Spam Rescue & Inbox Placement
Spam Rescue is one of WarmySender's most powerful features for building your sender reputation. It works automatically in the background, moving warmup emails back to the inbox when a provider routes them to spam.
How Spam Rescue Works
During regular IMAP scans, WarmySender checks both your inbox and your spam/junk folders. When a warmup email is found in spam, the system identifies it using internal tracking tokens and automatically moves it back to your inbox.
Why This Matters
Every time a message is moved from spam to inbox, it sends a strong signal to your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and others) that emails from that sender are legitimate and wanted. Over time, these signals train the provider's spam filters to trust your domain, improving your overall inbox placement rate.
Automatic and Hands-Free
Spam rescue happens entirely in the background — you do not need to manually check your spam folder or move any emails. The system handles detection and rescue automatically during each scan cycle.
What Rescue Changes — and What It Deliberately Does Not
Rescue teaches the receiving provider that your mail is wanted. That is its whole purpose, and it is why placement improves over time.
What it does not do is rewrite your numbers. Your Spam Rate records where each email FIRST landed, before any rescue. An email that arrived in spam and was moved to the inbox minutes later still counts as a spam landing for that day. We keep it that way on purpose: the first landing is the honest signal about your sending reputation, and quietly folding our own clean-up into the figure would tell you your mail is landing well when it is not.
Two things follow from that, and they surprise people:
- Your own spam folder will usually look empty even on a day when your Spam Rate is high — because we already moved that mail out of it.
- Your Spam Rate is about mail your inboxes SENT. It is measured where your mail arrives for the people receiving it, not in your own folders. So checking your own spam folder is not a way to verify the number.

Spam rescue is compatible with all connected email providers, including:

• Any custom IMAP-compatible email service
The system adapts to each provider's folder structure and naming conventions (Spam, Junk, Bulk Mail, etc.) to ensure comprehensive coverage.
No Configuration Required
Spam rescue is enabled by default for all mailboxes with warmup active. Simply connect your mailbox, enable warmup, and the system takes care of the rest.
