Run Instagram DM outreach with an AI agent

Connect WarmySender to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, OpenClaw or Hermes Agent — or any agent that speaks MCP — and it can build, launch, pause, resume and report on your Instagram DM campaigns in plain language, and enroll the people you choose. None of them can send a DM itself, and none can raise a limit. WarmySender's scheduler paces every follow, like, comment and DM inside each account's strict caps — a combined 100 actions a day and 10 an hour — on a schedule an agent has no access to.

Instagram is the channel where that separation matters most. The per-account budget is small and the platform watches new accounts closely, because a restricted Instagram account is hard to recover and a banned one is not recoverable at all. So the pacing is not a setting an agent can talk its way past — it is the part of the system an agent simply cannot reach.

What can an agent do on Instagram?

Instagram DM outreach through a connected AI agent: what it can and cannot do.
Area Your agent can Your agent cannot
Campaigns Create a campaign, choose the account and the steps, launch it, pause it, resume it Send any follow, like, comment or DM itself
People Enroll the people you choose — from your prospects, your lists, or by @handle or profile link Reach anyone faster than the account's safe pace, or an account it cannot see
Sequence and content Build a flow that follows, views a profile, likes and comments on a post, then sends a DM — with waits in between and a "stop if they reply" step Write a DM over 1,000 characters, or a comment over 1,250 — Instagram itself cuts anything longer, so those are hard caps
Limits and pacing Tell you the current pace and when the next action is due Raise the 100-a-day or 10-an-hour ceiling, shorten a new account's ramp, or fire actions in a burst
Inbox and replies Report on how a campaign is doing and why an account is quiet today Read or reply to DMs — that happens in WarmySender's inbox, with you
Accounts List the Instagram accounts you have connected and report each one's health Connect or disconnect an Instagram account — that stays in the app, and needs an Instagram seat

Who actually sends the DM?

WarmySender does. When your agent creates an Instagram campaign it writes a draft, and even after your agent starts it, nothing goes out at once. From there the scheduler works through the enrolled people slowly: it fires one action at a time, spaces consecutive actions with natural randomness rather than a steady beat, keeps the account inside its daily and hourly ceilings, and holds a newer account to the gradual ramp it is on.

So "enroll these 200 people and start it" is a safe sentence. It does not produce 200 DMs; it produces a queue that drains at the pace the account can safely carry — and a queue you can pause with one sentence.

How do the limits work when an agent is driving?

Exactly as they do otherwise. The caps belong to the account, not to whoever set the campaign up:

These are ceilings, not settings — nothing an agent (or you) can do raises them. If you need more total reach, connect additional accounts, each with its own independent budget. The full arithmetic is in Instagram daily and hourly sending limits, and the safeguards in full are in how Instagram outreach keeps your account safe.

Why did my sequence reach fewer people than my list?

Because a heavier sequence spends more of the account's daily budget on each person. A four-step flow — follow, then view, then like, then DM — uses four of the day's 100 actions per prospect, so it reaches about a quarter as many people in a day as a single-DM flow would. That is not a fault; it is the combined budget working as intended.

Your agent can tell you the trade-off before you launch: "With a follow-like-DM sequence, how many people will this account reach per day?" If you want more reach, either lighten the sequence, add another connected account, or simply accept that a warm, multi-touch approach reaches fewer people more thoroughly. A smaller, genuinely relevant audience almost always earns better replies than a large generic one.

What about replies?

Reading and replying to DMs stays with you, in WarmySender's own inbox — there is no agent tool that reads a conversation or sends a reply, on Instagram or any other channel. That is deliberate: a reply is where a human reads intent, and a DM you send by hand should be yours. Your agent handles the outreach that gets the conversation started and reports on how it is going; you handle the conversation itself. Replies you send from the inbox are uncapped and never eat into your outreach budget. See managing your Instagram inbox.

What still happens in the app?

Connecting and disconnecting an Instagram account, and reading and replying to DMs. There is no way for an agent to connect an account, deliberately — a social login should never pass through an agent or a chat log — and an Instagram seat is required to run outreach at all. You add the account in WarmySender (see how to connect your Instagram account), and from then on your agent works with what is connected.

What should I actually say?

Frequently asked questions

What can an AI agent do with my Instagram outreach?

Build a campaign, choose the account and the steps, launch it, pause and resume it, and enroll the people you choose — from your prospects, your lists, or by handle. It can build a sequence that follows, views, likes, comments and then DMs, and it can report on how a campaign is doing and why an account is quiet today. All of it in plain language, in your own workspace.

Can an AI agent send Instagram DMs for me?

No agent sends anything. It builds and launches the campaign, and WarmySender's scheduler then works through it slowly — one action at a time, spaced out, inside the account's daily and hourly ceilings and its gradual ramp. Asking your agent to enroll a couple of hundred people is safe: it creates a queue, not a burst.

Can an AI agent raise my Instagram limits?

No. Every account is held to a combined 100 actions a day and 10 an hour across all action types, and those are hard ceilings, not settings — nothing an agent can call raises them, shortens a new account's ramp, or removes the spacing between actions. If you need more reach, connect another account; each one has its own independent budget.

Do follows, likes and DMs each get their own limit?

No — they all draw from one combined budget of 100 a day and 10 an hour. A follow, a profile view, a like, a comment and a DM each count as one action against the same pool, so a heavier sequence uses more of the day's budget per prospect and reaches fewer people in a day. Your agent can tell you the trade-off before you launch.

Will an agent make my new Instagram account move faster?

No, and that is the protection working. A newly connected account starts well below the ceiling and climbs over its first weeks, regardless of who set the campaign up. New accounts are the most fragile, so easing in matters most there — account safety always wins over speed, because a banned account cannot be recovered.

Can my agent read and reply to my Instagram DMs?

No. Reading and replying to DMs stays with you in WarmySender's inbox — there is no agent tool that reads a conversation or sends a reply. Your agent runs the outreach that starts conversations and reports on how it is going; you handle the conversation itself. Replies you send from the inbox are uncapped and never count against your outreach budget.

Can my agent connect my Instagram account?

No. Connecting and disconnecting stays in the app on purpose, so your Instagram login never passes through an agent, and an Instagram seat is required to run outreach. Add the account yourself in WarmySender, and your agent works with whatever is already connected.
